Hi Guys,

not sure what i've done but our 3cx Android app (16.1.0.41) will not ring when receiving calls. But, can dial out. iOS app works fine.

Our phone system is 16.0.676.

What have I broken?

We will add tags.. noted.. Like this you will see the bridge name as a tag next to the contact name..
Thank you very much

@everyone - internal test users have an update with Voicemail download.. We delivered this now.
Anyone interested to test, I have 20 positions available. Send me pm and just tell me your email + internal test.

In a couple of days it will go on beta.

On my Pixel 2 Android version 10, 3cx app version 16.1.0.41, the app rings when the extension or DID is called, but there's no way to answer the call. If we press the receiver icon, it just calls the last number dialed.

We can hear the ringing, but nothing pops up to allow the call to be answered and if we manually go the the 3cx app., there's no way we can see to answer the call.

Very strange - what android version you have? Make this a habit - when you report something, you need to state 3CX Version, phone model and android os

Thanks. Any idea on time frames?
I will be recommending to my customers to not upgrade there apps untill this is fixed. Is there a way i can get the old app back on my phone and any of my customers phones that have already updated theres?
I feel this issue outweighs any of the other new features you have added.

Voicemail is done.. So we will download and play them with the google player.

BUT this recommending or not to customers comments and BS is tragic coming from a Silver partners.
I expect more support and more credibility from any partner level.
You are getting support as if we/I did not mention the issues/problems then we would all end up with very upset customers.

I never roll out a new update straight away to my customers, I will test them on my own system first and check the documentation and threads like this one as a lot of the updates have changes that will affect the end users. Holding off on updating customers until things are right saves a lot of time and stress from customers not being happy with features that have changed, been removed or are just not working.

Also if i was not supporting you I would not be selling your product. Would you prefer I switched to selling another product instead? if not then please don't go saying that re-sellers comments are "BS" we are here to help make the product as good as possible so we can get more sales and not end up with annoyed customers.

Thanks for the update
Re voicemail we are not ready yet from it. I agree.

Thanks for the update! As a word fo advice, even if the change is detrimental, these kinds of details need to be spelled out in the release notes so your partners can stay ahead of the wave of customers with questions.

Other than NOT playing the voicemail directly (users hate the new way) the app is pretty good.

HOWEVER, it no longer shows which Account you are using on the screen.. This is Critical for those of us that have to use several accounts. We need to know "who we are" on the MAIN screen.
Having to jump into Account selection to check it is a big problem.12591.

I also have a Pixel 2, running Android 10.

This quote is correct in that the 3CX app itself does not allow you to answer an incoming call, you can see in screenshot 1 that the app isn't actually recognising the inbound call.

However, you can answer the call from the notifications (see screenshot 2).

Hope this helps with debugging.

Have you checked if Push notifications for the current status are enabled?
You can find this new option on the Status Forwarding rules.

That's probably an issue with Android 10. It will occur if you disable notifications for 3cx app from android settings, when you enable notifications again it seems as if the setting is stuck to disable.
Try to uninstall 3cx client, install again re provision and make an incoming call.
Just make sure notifications are enabled.

Will be waiting for your feedback.

We will add tags.. noted.. Like this you will see the bridge name as a tag next to the contact name..
Do you have a specific due date for this? Because we also heavily depend on the groupings we made in the Admin Centre.

I am working on a sample.
While we are at it - What information would help you guys in this regard?
Like would you need to see the pbx name AND the groups they are in?
Or you think the pbx name is enough?

I was thinking to do something along these lines

Lets say you have 2 users User A and User A.
User A i sin the local pbx.
User A is in a bridged pbx named ITALY

When we search for "User A" We will show 2 entries
User A 000
User A 52000 (@italy) (in a tag)

Will this be ok?

Your steps to deactivate push are not working. When I try to uncheck the option for push for any status, it says applying changes but doesn't uncheck. Push is still active.

Long press the active account? where are the screen in the active account I am supposed to long press?

WTF happened to listening to voicemails? WTF is there a voicemail area when all the new app does direct you to the VMbox intro menu. It should play the VM the play button was in the row with. This needs to be fixed.

How the heck do I stop my phone from receiving calls when I don't want it to. The exit ignore push should have never been removed. Its much faster to click the menu and select Exit ignore push then it is to bury the option to enable/disable push in a status option that doesn't even work.

Calm down a bit - I understand your frustration - we are going to handle everything. We made a major release yesterday - We have 50k+ installs to deal with. Have some empathy..

  1. first update your server because that's why the option is not respecting you. You need to be on 16 update 3.
  2. Voicemails - update coming soon. It will be awesome. And it will work.
  3. We have silent mode, which will stop the phone ringing. But call will still come in. then you can set a profile say DND and DND you set PUSH OFF. SO when you go to dnd, you will not get pushed. So set to dnd, Exit app standard way, and it will not be pushed.

What else can I clarify for you?

My users don't have empathy for me when the app is redesigned and there isn't a good explanation about how the new layout works vs the old "legacy" app. It would be cool to give the user a tiny tutorial when the app is opened for the 1st time to explain where thing are.

I heard everything I needed to hear. Thanks for the quick response.

Personally, I think the new app requires to many click now to deactivate the account. My users forget to switch DND on/off so status changes aren't a good solution. Silence isn't going to work either because the app is still being used. Deactivating the phone app is the only good way to stop the app, or in legacy was exit ignore push.

Can you please share the link to where someone can sign up for newsletter blasts?

Listen - we need to design the app that explains itself. So that we dont need to explain and neither your users. So we are on the same boat.

We have not yet digested exit without push. I am on the forums every day like an atomic lock. I am collecting info and we are trying to find an equivalent solution.

There is a way - actually all nokia and huawei work like this. If you kill the app, exit it, it wont push until it is launched. Some samsungs also
Go to app details and click on Force stop. Call it - it might not launch.
It will regain push once you manually launch it again.

I need to ask you. When your users do not want to receive whats app or messenger notifications, what do they do? I am not being sarcastic - it is an honest question to see what users do when they need to block another app.
