I have a unique situation brought on by COVID. A client is now having patients wait in their car before being checked in. They would like to position someone outside permanantly, to check in users in the parking lot, to walk up to each car and assess the situation and check the patient in. What I envision, is the employee wearing a headset, that is a one button press that autodials a number. Almost like push to talk, do you know of any such products that will work with 3CX to accomplish this?

Some good DECT phones have the Push2Talk feature between handset, that could help. Probably a wired headset could trigger it depending on mode of headset and phones.

The closest I've come for something similar is to create a "contact" on the Mobile app that dials *7xxx, where xxx=the extension to call. *7 makes it an intercom call so you will be immediately talking to the called party. Use a Bluetooth headset for the mobile phone, and, boom, Bob's your uncle.

There's probably a WiFi SIP cordless phone out there that you could setup a BLF with the *7xxx number, but I don't know of anything specific myself.

It is going to come down to what type of hardware you choose to have the person in the parking lot use. If the area could be covered by a DECT base, then you could choose a handset with a headset jack. Use that in conjunction with an ATA. Set the ATA to hotdial (dial a specific number when the set goes off-hook). That would probably be the least expensive way to do it.
