One of our clients wants their system to mimic their old phone system. The receptionist receives all calls. At first we had a ring group set up to ring multiple sets. But they want the receptionist to answer all calls. Well most of them anyways. This means when she's on the phone, if another call comes.thourgh she is to put caller 1 on hold answer the phone for caller 2. The only problem is when the second caller calls in, there's no audio beep. She has to look at the phone to see the message incoming call. Then she can answer the second call. Is it possible to have a tone beep when a second caller is calling htek 923 kinda like old call waiting?

Did you set the extension to allow multiple calls?

yes, we can receive multiple calls. since we removed the queues. but theres no audible beep when an incoming call is coming in. what we did as a work around is we have the windows client in cti mode. in the advance settings we turned on focus. We then have her minimize the app when she receives a phone call. when a second caller calls in, the app will jump back up on the screen. then she knows to place caller 1 on hold and answer the second caller. I think we are going to also paly with adding another extension on the phone. place it back in a queue with both extensions. that way we can rind extension 1, then the seond caller wil ring extension two....etc..etc

Are you using physical sets? If so, then any call waiting tone, or second line actually ringing (rather than just flashing a key), will be a set option

yes we are using Physical Handsets at this location. Ok, so results vary depending on the handset. that is good to know. I did contact support today and they said not possible, by default. its no worries, we do have a slight workaround. but I was kind of curious. Thanks for the response!!
