Raspberry Pi as mobile demo system?

I want to set up a Pi3 (just found out that the 4 won't work ) as a demo system to show potential clients/users. Am I going to run into problems if I use standard setup? The system needs to be connected to prospect's LAN. I accept that without firewall messing it won't allow incoming calls, but outgoing should be fine? Will the cert re-configure itself? Bit confused!

Here's the best demo system I've heard about on this forum:

• Raspberry Pi 3B+ with 3CX
• 2-3 phones
• A small power bar
• A small LTE modem/router

This way, you manage your own little router (so no firewall messing, and static IP for the PBX) and it doesn't use a lot of data as it's just VoIP. You can also use a small PoE switch (like 5 ports, 1 to the LTE modem, 1 for the Pi, 2-3 for phones).

You carry this in a rugged case and you'll have a pretty impressive mobile setup.

The certificate shouldn't be an issue since everything will technically be local to the PBX. As for the IP, just set 3CX to Dynamic IP and it will be fine. FQDN will take 6h to update (5mins on Enterprise licenses) but that's a non-issue since, like I said, everything will be using local IP. Make sure to set the PBX with a static IP in the router DHCP.

You can use cloud pbx (for free one year) and use your mobile router to connect a Pi as SBC, this is how i use for now .

Nothing has to be changed on pbx side, not either on remote site if your router is kept set for your 3CX demos.
Just need power, and few phones

My experience with Raspberry Pis (which is about 6 or 7 units, from the original v1 up to the v3B+) is that the SD card will most likely become corrupt (I think I have had to re-image the SD card on every one of my Raspberry Pis - some more than once) - and if you are going to be booting it every time you visit a client, it could be a risky strategy.

"Corruption generally occurs when writing data to the card. The influencing factors are power loss and over clocking.

If you loose power when writing to the SD Card it can corrupt the card. This is typically due to cutting power during shut down, power on, etc.. When the Pi is up and running a lot is happening in memory and no writes are committed so power loss is not a guarantee of corruption when the Pi is running.

Extreme overclocking can corrupt the data as it's being written to the card if you experience corruption with over clocking try backing off or down your overclock settings."

So don't overclock it and power off it correctly with the console will maybe reduce this kind of problem ?

Raspberry Pi or not, any PC or small PC would do it. Hell, even a small laptop could do that perfectly. Remember those netbooks? We finally found a use for them after they've been dead for years.

Not sure it is possible due to drivers.

FYI, 3CX doesn't "provide" their own image, only a link to the Raspbian image directly. They support only Stretch tho, not Buster.
