When i select a BLF for my phone and select re-provision button in the 3CX console what happens ?
What is triggered and where can i see this ?
This is what I found in the log .
2019/06/26 10:37:54.476|658|0007|Info|HD: Reprovisioning for ext HD00011
2019/06/26 10:37:54.495|658|0007|Info|HD: Reprovisioning for ext HD00011 is finished
This takes about 15 minutes from the time I select re-provision button before the Phone is re-provisioned.

Reprovisioning updates the phones with any changes done to the ext thru the 3cx management console I.e password, phone settings , blf keys, etc

As for taking 15 mins, not really noticed how long it takes on our setup and out clients

I select BLF in web interface for user and it takes a long time for it to send the new config.
How does it work what is triggered ?
By watching log files I do not see the provisioning take place .Even after i selected re provision .

When you make changes, re-provisoning pushes out the changes immediately else the changes are pushed out once every day (not sure when) - this applies to web changes and 3cx management changes

As you are using hot desk phones, I would say the changes are pushed out when you reprovision or logout / login to the phone

Note sure if provisioning updates are logged, some one else may known the answer

when I select reprovision on the Management console it takes a long time about 15-20 minutes before the phone is provisioned .There is nothing logged as to when it sends the provisioning as far as i can see.
Is this normal ?
Next users using the web interface have a longer time for the provisioning takes place is this normal ?
Can this be changed ? if so where and how?

does this include when i select Reprovision from inside the Management console ?
I do know when i select this for the phone ,reporvisions takes upwards of 15-20 minutes.
Is this a normal time frame ?or can this be changed?

I do not think you can change this setting
Can the Phone config be changed to check for new provisions more frequently instead of daily then ?

Yes you can change the frequency of re-provisioning, but you have to edit the template.
Default auto-provision time is 1440 minutes.
Search for and change the value in to the desired time.
"static.auto_provision.repeat.minutes = 1440"

Think OP is using hotdesking, as in his first post he mentions HD00011 - custom templates are not supported for hotdesking.

More info of creating custom templates - https://www.3cx.com/docs/custom-ip-phone-templates/

Just remember custom templates are not supported by 3CX so any issues you will have to resolve them yourself or go back to 3cx templates

Is there a log written that show when the Provisioning took place ?

Will changing this setting allow the Phone to provision quicker ?

I've never waited a so long time to provision a phone from console.

What is the interest for you to re-provision more than once a day?

Will changing this setting allow the Phone to provision quicker ?
Nope , just more than once a day , but if for now it takes 20 minutes to run it should be the same, just done twice a day.

Hi,
Can you give us more details :

- What is your 3CX version running ? (see in dashboard)

- 3CX firewall checker passes green ? (if Not, SIP ALG disabled ?)

- is your 3CX on premise, cloud hosted?

- Do you use a VPN (only if cloud hosted) ?

- is it Windows, Debian, Pi hardware ?

- Are the phones local extensions on same LAN, or STUN,SBC if remote ?

- What are phones model and brand?

- do you use up to date FW and 3CX standard templates?

- Problem is on one phone or all ?

Reprovisoning an already provisioned phone should not take more than a minute. What you are describing in not normal.
When you select a device and click on the reprovision button through the management console the PBX will send a NOTIFY message to the phone asking it to check for updates.
The phone should reply with a 200 OK message and then send a few HTTP "GET" requests to the PBX requesting the various provisioning files. The PBX will reply with 200 OK to the files it can provide and send them to the phone. The time this process needs to complete depends on the size of the files. If there is a new firmware for the phone for example this process could take longer. A normal reprovision for a blf change however should not take over a minute.
The management console log will tell you which files are requested and which ones will be generated but not much more.
You will need to use wireshark to capture a reprovision and see where the delay is.

So your phones are up to date, on dashboard firewall is Green ? can you run it out of office hours ?

Related to details you give us but with shadows zone is your install connected like that ?

cloud 3cx AWS ------> vpn ------> phones Hotdesked (site 1)
|------------------> PI (sbc?)--> desk phones (site 2)

Is your VPN fast enough for your use?

will run the Firewall checker this evening , VPN is fast enough ( I assume)
DashBoard firewall is green .
First one yes ,
Second one is a windows box ,deskphones .
Have Wireshark install at first site, will run today .

Your windows box is running SBC in connexion to 3cx Hosted cloud?
Or is it another single 3CX on premise?
