I am trying to update the authentication password for multiple extensions. When selecting just one extension and clicking the Regenerate Button, I get the following confirmation message:

"All extension passwords and credentials will be reset and new ones will be generated. Supported IP Phones will be automatically provisioned."

This message is not clear...will only the selected extensions be reset or will all extension be reset. Also, I'm assuming a new Welcome email will need to be generated to all selected extensions.

Hi kforfa,

There is not a lot of information I can find online to support exactly what happens here however it is my estimation that hitting this button will regenerate whichever extension(s) SIP authentication credentials you have selected.

Obviously you can select singular or hold ctrl and select multiple extensions.

You do not get a new welcome email however - I tested this. The re-provisioning behavior is the same as if you were to re-provision from the "phones" tab in 3CX.

If it is just SIP credentials that are changing (which I think it is) a new Welcome email would not be required as these credentials are kept hidden from the user anyway.

Hello @kforfa

Please note that the password regeneration will occur only for the selected extensions. You can multi select them and press the Regenerate button once.
You will need to manually send welcome emails to the selected extensions, however supported devices will re-provision automatically

OK...thanks for the replies. Just a suggestion to change the wording on the confirmation to state "selected extensions" or a different warning if no selection was made that every extension will be affected. Thanks again!

Thank you for the feedback. We will see what can be done regarding the wording.
