Unsupported Register Gigaset A510IP phone

Hi,

This topic has probably been addressed before and I am sorry I couldn't find the most relevant answer.

I want to be able to register my Gigaset IP base to 3CX so call extensions or call out via SIP trunk. This Gigaset cannot be auto-provisionned.

I managed to register this gigaset IP phone with an extention if and only if I change the AuthID to its extension number. I can receive calls.
However, I have a red triangle warning "High Alert, Extension Insecure and External Registration allowed.". I cannot make calls anymore, even with with the 3CX App. I think this restriction is introduced by the alert.

To fix that alert, I have to regenerate an ID/password and I cannot register my phone/softphone anymore since the AuthID also changed.

So what is the procedure to allow external registration and make calls ?

• IP Phone Make/Model/Firmware : Gigaset A510IP
• Provisioning Method: Local / VPN / STUN / SBC : SIP (UDP: 5060)
• Trunk Provider or Gateway Make/Model : N/A ?
• Has the Firewall Checker passed: NO (testing port 5060... Mapping does not match 5060. Mapping is 1030.). I configured NAT 5060 for both TCP and UDP, still failed.
• Are custom Phone Templates being used: NO

Unfortunately the A510 is not in the supported list so there is no guarantee of success. Officially we recommend that you get a supported model for the best results. If you get one from the DECT list on this page, it is practically guranteed to work correctly

I have absolutely no idea if this will work - but you could try adding it as a N510 and see if you are lucky.
Read our guide and see if you can adapt it to your model.
Make sure you have the latest firmware Gigaset has to offer, and make sure the Pi and the Gigaset are on the same network.

You might get lucky and get it to register, but this does not mean the calls will also work, you will just have to try and see, otherwise replace it with a supported model

Thanks for your answer.
I did try the auto-provisioning following the procedure you shared. It was unsuccessful but I can try again later.

So if I cannot provision automatically, I wanted to do it manally.

What I managed to get is this :


As you can see, I can register to the 3CX properly using SIP. But to get this, I have to change the AuthID to the extension number. And by doing that, I get this warning:


If I check "Disallow use of extension outside the LAN (Remote extensions using Direct SIP or STUN will be blocked)", I still get the High Alert about Extension insecure.
I changed the password to a 32 char generated password "J4Xpj9%#V*@YM&9S@g9fqo6Fp6x6sBz3" meeting the minimum requirement. The High Alert is still here.

Is there any way I can get rid of this high alert.

Hi @Tuyen

Firstly, the warning is regarding the AuthID in particular so changing the password will not make that go away.

Secondly, in your attempt to make it work you appear to have enabled the direct SIP option which is not necessary for local phones.

This is an example of the type of issues you might face with unsupported devices, and unfortunately we cannot help further with that.

I managed the provisioning for Gigaset N510 and it worked. I investigated the generated .xml, how the different SIP information are populated and I managed to register the softphone as well !
If it can help anyone, here is how the different fields must be filled:
- Display Name : <blank>
- UserName: <extension number>
- Password/Authentication password: <AuthPassword>
- Username/Auth Username: <AuthID>

Auth Username was in advance settings
