Remote 3CX settings?

I am trying to get the 3CX app to recognize and connect to my server via the external ip address. The problem is that it wont connect or register. I can connect via internal ip address. I am in desperate need of help as this has to be done ASAP.

You'll have to provide some more details about your 3CX PBX set-up? Do you have other external extensions in use now?

No, I do not have any in use as of this moment. I am going to try a few different things to see if i can figure out what is going on.
ie. make sure ports are open and what not

EDIT: I have checked for an open 5060 port and it is.
