Remote access to 3CX console*Discussion

I was playing around with remote access to 3CX. Since local access no longer makes use of a browser and the manual (page 17) shows to use the format http://phone-system/Management or http://phone-system/5481 . " phone-system" being the name of the PC running 3CX. I tried all variations to no avail. First off I found Firefox attempting to add www. and .com., that was correctable in the Firefox settings.

I ended up trying the old bookmarked http://192.168.XXX.XXX:5481/MainForm.wgx , which, to my surprise, worked just fine.

Local access works fine with a browser.

phone-system will only work if that is the machine name of your system or if you replace phone-system with the actual IP address. It is probably assumed that you would figure that out.

I actually prefer to continue to use the IP address. It's just that because the local machine access no longer opens the browser I began looking at what changes were required to do remote access. None apparently.
