Hello,

I have a Yealink phone (T48G) I would like to remotly provision using "Auto Provision" and STUN.

The 3cx Instance is hosted at the main office site and the phone is in a remote office site, all traffic is trusted between the two via WAN IPs.

I assumed that I could just enter "http://<CUSTOMER>.3cx.co.uk:5000/provisioning/<DIR>" into the "Server URL" field under "Auto-Provising" on the Yealink T48G and this would just work but it doesn't. I have gone into 3cx and set-up the phone as "Direct SIP (STUN - remote)".

I also assume I don't need to open any ports at the remote site end as it is functioing as if the 3CX server was in the cloud.

I have also set the STUN server on the phone hand set to "stun.3cx.com"

What am I missing...

If you have site to site vpn and are allowing all traffic thru the vpn - setup the phone as local (lan). When adding the phone, select the interface as the 3cx IP address and not fqdn

Factory default the phone, and manually enter the provisioning link into the phone

Hi,

You will need to follow the guide and set it up as STUN
https://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/yealink-t4-series/#h.kaj5m6i41no9

As per the guide, the phone should be reset and it will contact the remote provisioning server, then ask you to enter your extension and pin. Following this, it should autoconfig.

For this to work of course, the PBX server's HTTPS port must be accessible from the internet (think being able to access the webclient from home).

Port forwardings will be necessary on the remote site too, even though you trust the other WAN IP, it's still a foreign connection to your main office. So open the Yealink's SIP and RTP ports on the remote firewall and while you're at it ensure that SIP ALG or SIP helper services are disabled. They tend to mess with SIP and may cause trouble with audio or registration

Thank you for this, I will check it all out.

I thought that if your PBX was in the cloud you could configure a telephone handset to work wherever you had a WAN without any open ports. This is what I'm trying to replicate.

Unfortunately we do not support it in that way, because there's no guarantee each ISP and each different modem and each different network environment will behave the same on each different phone model across a variety of possible firmware releases. There's just too many variables to control for.

We recommend to open the ports statically to ensure they are always ready regardless of how your modem/firewall/network behaves. And where feasible, we recommend the 3CX SBC that largely reduces all these problems without any special config needs.

Thanks for the Reply. No problem. I will power through with Firewall and port changes.

Sure thing, let us know how it goes. And remember to enable PBX Delivers Audio on the remote extension's Options since its STUN.

Hey,

So i've deployed an SBC and the phone is registered and working, but BLFs are not being provisioned to the phone. If I manually add them it's fine, but it's not picking up the 3cx BLF Settings and pushing them to the phone.

3CX - 16.0.641 Professional Annual
SBC - 16.1.152 - Linux
Phone - Yealink T48G 38.83.0.130

The blf keys will get pushed out every 24 hrs, at the next schedule update.

If you click on the ‘Reprovosion’ icon it will be done straight away

If I click "Reprovision" in the 3cx management colson or click on "Auto Provision Now" in the phone it doesn't push the BLF settings to the phone.

Try the following:

1. Delete all BLFs on the extension (even the blanks) and press OK to save
2. Edit the extension again, and add some BLFs and SP1 shared parking, press OK to save
3. Now reset the phone to factory settings
4. When it appears in the management console, select it and assign it to the extension we edited above.

Once the phone provisions and registers, we expect to see some BLFs now.

Perfect!! All Working! Thank you so much!
