We have 3CX phone system running on a Windows Server 2019 virtual machine, domain joined.

Due to some infrastructure reshuffling, the domain controllers etc will be unavailable for some time, and therefore we need to make this Windows Server a WORKGROUP member.

I removed the Windows OS from the domain, restarted. I then changed the DNS on the NIC to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

I disabled the Windows Firewall.

I had connectivity to the Windows OS through RDP and ping etc, but could not load the management page of the phone system.

Even attempting to load the management website of the phone system locally via https://127.0.0.1:5001 did not respond.

I created a HOSTS file entry for the WINS name of the local computer and its private IP address, but could not load the management page still.

Attempting to load the management page remotely via IP or DNS name did not work either, even though I was connected to the OS via RDP at the same time.

All 3CX services are running under LocalSystem and had started successfully. Is there anything in this scenario that would cause the services not to function?

The phone system was working so far as I could make outbound calls, but the phone directory of users was not available in the soft phone.

This was late last night, so I had to back out of the changes and restore the O/S as it was joined to the domain.

Did you try the http also? Otherwise I would just make a backup, uninstall, demote, reinstall/restore.
