Hi all,

I would like the outbound number to be formated in the following way:
The user dials +27 (31) 7058667 and it is then reformated to 0317058667.

What would be the best way of doing this ?

I am assuming thats its possible by using CallerID - "Reformat Incoming or Outgoing Caller".
Or should I be using an Outbound rule and if so how ?

Thanks in advance !

Hello @JoshuaMunstermann

The caller ID reformatting is for the caller ID not the dialed number so that won't work for you. The easiest solution is for the user to not dial the number with parenthesis and if any numbers are stored like that, they should be edited.
The outbound rules can strip and pretend a pre-configured set of digits that will not much all numbers so that will also probably not work.

Many devices will display stored numbers in a more "readable" format without you entering them (think mobile phone), but sent numbers do not include those characters. In the same way, if you store a phone number, in a database, while non-dialable characters such as - or (, make the number look nice, in the majority of cases cannot be interpreted by a non human.
