I need to replace an expired SSL certificate on my 3CX server that is hosted on Azure. When I try to upload the new certificate files to the server it says permission denied. When I go the link https://www.3cx.com/docs/self-hosted-instances-ssh/ it takes me to a page talking about connecting to my server via SSH and says nothing about renewing my certificate. Can someone please help? Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi! Generally if you are not very familiar with the process of renewing your certificate, you may want to consider re-installing 3CX and a 3CX-issued certificate, this way you would never need to worry about renewing it again as long as the License Key is active.

To your questions though, there is a similar post here:
https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/renewal-public-certificate-ssl.79180/

I have renewed it before without any issues. We would rather have our own domain shown for using the web meeting feature with clients. I just can't seem to find the instructions since the link (https://www.3cx.com/docs/renewing-ssl-certificate) no longer takes me to a page with the actual instructions for renewing the SSL certificate. When I try to replace the certificate.pem files on our server it gives an access denied error.

Is there no longer actual documentation on renewing SSL certificates?

The page was removed as a lot of users tried to do it unsuccessfully, so it was causing more problems than what it solved.

The instructions are pretty straight forward:
  1. Issue a new unencrypted PEM format certificate (convert it if your CA gives it to you in a different format)
  2. Overwrite the existing files on your 3CX Server
  3. Append any Intermediate certificates might be needed in the Cert file.
  4. Restart nginx
Note: if on Linux, make sure the cert files have owner and group "phonesystem"
