Since Version ?? changing the number of an extension is not possible any more, i just realized.
I guess If I export all extension to csv, then use Excel to change the numbers, then delete all extension, then again import everything, that should be way to accomplish this task?

Hello @nobody

Please note that by doing what you described the extensions will be imported back to the PBX with the new extensions numbers. However not all the extensions settings are exported so you will lose some configuration. Also any inbound rules you have linked to extensions will be gone as well as Queue agents or ring group agents. Basically anything that had an extension number assigned or linked to an extension number will need to be reconfigured.

In theory it should work, I would test by exporting one extension - deleting it within 3CX and importing the modified file back in.

You will probably have to reboot the phone, to pick up the new extension details from the provisioning url

Thanks everyone.
Followup question:
What will happen if I import an extension which I did not delete previously? Of course I can try that out, but if its already known, thats easier.

lose voicemails too?

The management console will detect this and will not import the extension.
