Replace RECYAMSG

I am attempting to replace the RECYAMSG ("Record your message and press pound or press star to contact the operator") file with a shorter one removing the "...or press star to contact the operator." However, when I highlight the prompt ID, browse (so that I can browse to the new, shortened file) is greyed out. Thoughts or suggestions?

If, i copy the Standard English Prompts set, and give the copied set a name, then click OK, i am then able to highlight the prompt, browse to new file, choose it and click Open. However, the prompt that plays is still the original prompt.

It seems to me native directives can't be changed , you need to do what you did, a copy and rename the set of directives and then edit the concerned directive file and change audio to what you want. Once done , you need to enable the new set of directives in the pbx to be able to use it and may be a restart of services media server is also needed.

Doing this you customise your set with a new audio but that set of directives won't be updated each time 3CX change something in the native set of directives. SO it's not so cool that it seems.

Yes. But I am going to give it another try. Maybe i missed a step. Well, obviously I missed something, lol!

Have you selected the new prompt set as the active?

i did. in both the System Prompts section under General and also on the User's VM tab.

Then you might enable verbose logging, make a call, download the system logs and check which prompt set has been used for the call in 3CXIVR.log. It could also give a clue what's wrong.
