Hi,

I am working on a Debian 3CX 15.5. SP4 installation and I want to replace a system prompt (the horrific license limit prompt).

First time I tried to replace the file in the webinterface I got an error message saying the file was in the wrong format. True, so I converted the file with Audacity (and later on I also tried with Cooledit and OnlineConvert).

But when I try to replace the file now nothing happens. I don't get an error message but the file is also not replaced. Tried this on 3 different PBX's (all v15.5. SP4).
What's happening here?

Hello @Rob24h

In order to do this, you will need to create a new prompt set and replace the specific prompt as per following instructions:
  • Go to Settings >> System Prompts and click on Manage Prompt Set.
  • Then select your current prompt set and click on Copy Prompt Set.
  • Give a name to the new prompt set and click OK.
  • Select the new prompt set as "Active Prompt Set" and again Click OK.
  • Still on System Prompts Settings, in the search bar, search for PLSHOLD. This is the specific prompt that you want to change.
  • Click on "Record By Phone" to record a new message(silence) or browse for a new audio file.
  • Restart services for changes to take effect.
Please note that there is no conformation when the file is replaced correctly and the same name remains.

I did exactly what you described but still nothing happens. The file I need to replace is called LL (license_limit.wav) and I try to replace it with a file with another filename so I must see something change, right?

No, actually nothing will change. Your file will be renamed to the filename of the original file so the system can find and play the file when necessary.

So the file might have been processed correctly but I just don't get a succesfull message and i don't see the filename changing? If this is the case everything works now! Thanks for the help.

Glad i could assist.
