Since the advent of the install wizard I've usually chosen the legacy option and just set things up as we normally do. I let it do the wizard yesterday and it created x100 as the system owner. In the case where a client wants to use x100, is there anything special needed to replace that initial account? Or just:
  • create new extension
  • set as system owner
  • check all "Allow access to 3CX Management Console" options
  • set the original x100 as User, and delete
Or maybe just change the name on the extension and change it to User?

The wizard did throw me a bit because during install I was prompted for a username to use for the admin, and it apparently doesn't use that at all. I figured it out though. :)

(I did try to search, but searching 'system owner' finds all posts with the word "system," and the forum search disallows "quoting phrases")

So if you go to settings ---- general you can change the operator extension to another user.

then you can change the extension to system owner and the default that was created at the beginning change the role.

did you try this?

Hi Alejandro, I can change that setting. I guess what I was trying to ask was, is there anything special about that original system owner? Or we can just create other system owner accounts as desired, and either delete the original x100 or change its name and role?

yes you can change it, but at least one extension must be system owner and also the emails must be unique for each extension.
