We're running V 20 Update 7 Build 1080 on premise. The new dashboard banner states that remote storage is partially configured and that it (presumably full configuration of remote storage) is required. We have no need or desire to archive anything because we don't use chats or faxes, and we have recordings set to delete automatically after 4 days and voicemails after 29 days. To get rid of the remote storage banner I had to configure archiving for recordings and voicemails, both of which I set to 30 days. I thought that the net effect would be nothing since the files would be automatically deleted before they would ever be archived. However, configuring remote storage disables the automatic deletion of recordings and voicemails. That means that recordings and voicemails are going to start accumulating in an off-server storage area where I don't want them, and I will have to make separate arrangements to delete them regularly as 3CX used to do.
I understand that we don't want voice files building up on the 3CX server, but if we're automatically deleting them I don't know why the server seems to be forcing us to archive them instead. In our scenario, can we continue our voice file maintenance with automatic deletions and ignore the remote storage warning banner?
