We have an issue with V20, if you need to resend the welcome email using the reset password function, it also changes the password for the dect registration if the user has a dect phone, each time I have to login to the W90B-DM and reprovision so the new password is picked up, is this normal?

Hi there.
So you mean the password of the actual DECT is changing every time you add the new user in there and send welcome email to that user?

Correct, the registration password in the base station changes and the sip account becomes unregistered.., re-provision the base and the account becomes registered again.

So basically, your Web UI of the DECT will be the same, however if you reset the user password, which is one of the user who is park of the DECT, will need to receive the updated information and for that you will need to push the new settings to the DECT and re-provision or restart the DECT so it will re-provision automatically when it boots.

Does a user password reset (to log in the app or or web portal) also reset the SIP credentials?

Oh wow!!! I feel like this should not be the case....

If we add a Generic IP phone instead, would 3cx also reset the SIP credentials?

Yes, that is expected. If you reset password of an extension, you will have a new password. Doesnt matter for what...

I made this same mistake now I cant get back into the phone whoops. Guess Ill restore.

I feel that the user should indeed be able to reset its login password, but the phone credentials should be left to the admins.

End users (or admins, entering their email) can "forgot password" on the web client login page.

Yes, but when a user forgets their email, it resets their VOIP credentials, it seems.

Hmmm, https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/3cx-v20-update-2-release-candidate.127884/post-608063

Have you tried?

I can read the posts above a couple of ways. AFAIK it is the Reset button in the web client Admin panel that will "...reset the passwords for the selected users. Are you sure you want to continue?" And then the user resetting their own password via Forgot Password should not disconnect phones/apps.
