Guys,

does 3CX holds any case of success regarding installing 3CX in a residential building to use its PABX IP functionalities to inside communications as well as Voice/Video intercom control?

Today at our office, we use a Hikvision solution: DS-KB8112-IM, but we weren't able to integrate 3CX with it. The idea is "picking up" an 3CX extension to answer intercom with voice only and/or voice/video and open the door itself, delegating it or not to someone in the building's lobby.

Any thoughts on this?

I see no reason that it would not work, if you used a compatible door phone unit (VoIP, or an ATA with an analogue unit). A number of different makes have been mentioned in previous posts, if you do a search. You may have to maintain an internet connection to the PBX for 3CX validation purposes. On thing to keep in mind. Many enter-phone type systems allow the use of "codes" in place of actual unit numbers for security reasons. If the system were also used for calls between suites, then allowing the dialling of the suite number from another suite, but blocking that ability from the front door, would have to be considered.
