Resolve name to mobile phone number

Hello,

we have stored the mobile phone number in the extensions. Unfortunately, the name is not resolved on the phones and 3cx clients.

Is this possible to implement?

I am not sure i understand what you are trying to achieve? Can you elaborate as to what the desired functionality is?

We have stored the mobile phone number in the extensions. If a person calls the office with his mobile phone number, the number is not resolved. So we don't know who is calling. Of course we can now maintain these mobile phone numbers in the contacts, but why should we double the effort? Therefore it would be desirable that the phone numbers, which are already stored in the extensions, are resolved as names on the display of the telephone and on the 3cx client.

Yes but it is quite tedious to have to change this in the extensions and in the contacts.

I put an idea in for this a long time ago... its floating out there somewhere. It is silly to have to maintain in 2 places... then it shows up twice in the Softphones as well.

I don't think that the mobile phone number, in the extension settings, is for the purpose of identifying incoming calls from that device, it's for outgoing functions such as ring my mobile. Matching to a name would have to be done in the phone book or local set directory.

How often is someone calling their own extension from their mobile?

Not the own number, but another number in the company. then the colleague sees immediately who calls.

Yes but i dont add a lots of contacts per hand. LDAP-Connections arent possible in the contacts. Why not?

Since when?
Perhaps it depends on the verison?
I am on 15.5 PRO and have an LDAP button under contacts.

We are on 16.0.0.1581. There is no LDAP-Button.

LDAP disappeared in V16.

You do still have the option to import from CSV or connect to various CRM's / DB's.

Yes, why is it disappeared? Import from a csv-file is old-school and do a lot of work.

Judging from my searches, I think they got rid because it didn't work very well.

I would suggest looking at the CRM options to see if something else will suit.
