Helo,
My license for the 3CX system (version 20) has expired, installation on the Windows Server. I created a backup and tried to update the key to a new one, but since the previous license had already expired, I wasn’t able to do anything.
I now have a new license key and have assigned the FQDN to this new key. The FQDN itself has not changed. However, when I try to restore the data, I’m unable to do so. I receive a message saying that the license has expired and nothing can be done.
I also tried restoring the data using the command line (restorecmd), but the restore process still does not work.
Is there any way to restore the data (database, settings, configuration, etc.) from the backup in this situation?

In cases like this, you need only renew the license that is already installed on the system. Since you have already replaced the license with the same FQDN, your previous backup containing the old license cannot be used for restoration.

Do you still have access to the old Windows system installation, or have you reinstalled it with the new license on the same machine?

Unfortunately, I no longer have access to the new installation. On the previous installation my license had already expired, and when I tried to change it to the new one, the system rejected the change. I was not able to save it.
I created a backup and then used the new license. The system is now installed with the new license, but I do not have any data.
Even on a clean installation, when I try to restore the backup using the option without applying the license, the console connection is disconnected, then it reconnects, but nothing happens and the backup is not restored.
I also tried restoring the backup using restorecmd, but I’m still unable to restore it.
I even unpacked the backup and changed the license in the XML configuration file, but when attempting to restore the data I receive a message saying that the backup is corrupted.

Is there perhaps a way to restore the database directly from PostgreSQL?

There is no way to restore the database in any way. What I can suggest is to contact your 3cx partner linked to your subscription to see what can be done, or they can also open a ticket on your behalf to 3cx technical support to check and advise.

I’ve tried that solution as well. My distributor doesn’t have any idea how to fix it. I also tried contacting the 3CX helpdesk directly, but I haven’t received a response yet. It’s important for me to recover this data. Reconfiguring the entire PBX from scratch would be very difficult.

You can purchase and open a ticket to 3cx technical support directly from the 3cx system dashboard.

I’ll give it a try — maybe this way the problem can be resolved.
Thank you for your help.
