I'm pretty sure "Hosted by 3CX" is still "in trial" and not recommended for production environments - is this still correct? Even though we can move PBX's to hosted if required?

As we do not have root access to the console on "Hosted by 3CX" instances if a system gets damaged/hacked and is “Hosted by 3CX” how would we repair such a system? Would it be a case of:

a. Create a ticket to [email protected] to and get 3CX support to restore the Virtual Machine to a previous state (how far back?). And quickly change relevant passwords?
b. Create a ticket to [email protected] to and get 3CX support to run a "sudo /usr/sbin/3CXWizard –cleanup" on the existing instance so we can connect to port 5015 to re-run the installation and restore a backup. And quickly change relevant passwords?
d. Any other ideas?

At present you can either - 1. Create a brand new instance (with new FQDN) or 2. Create a brand new instance from a backup containing (FQDN & License). Option 2 (here) isn't possible until we have reached out to support to remove the existing VM.

Just wondered how this is dealt with?

Many thanks.

Hi,

"Hosted by 3CX" is for production systems.
As for the hacked PBX, if this happens due to change of the main admin password to a more weak one and your PBX gets hacked, yes the Cloud Team can fix this for you.
I would recommend to open a ticket to the Cloud Team " https://www.3cx.com/contact-form/ " in order to avoid any delays.
As for the state of the machine, we have the ability to bring it back to the state of the previous night of your local time.
This will include your License key, our FQDN and your Call History. It will not include Vmails, Recordings as it is highly recommended to have these backups on your side (Google Storage, sFTP, FTP)
Also you can have a backup of your PBX at your side if you enable Scheduled Backup every night and you store it at your account in Google Storage, SFTP, FTP.
If you have any further questions, please let us know.

So just checking. If the VM is restored to the previous night and the backups were local (backups should still show up in the "newly restored" management console) we should be able to see the latest backups (once the VM is restored) and at least do a restore of the voicemails and recordings that way - albeit possibly a day old?
(I know ideally it should be backed up to a 3rd party storage service but we used to use Google Drive and that is no longer supported so we have found backing up to 3rd party services is often changeable requiring more tinkering!)
