I'm struggling to get this working, it seems so trivial but I'm also seeing numerous locations to adjust CID.
We currently have all calls using our primary number on our SIP Trunk with Flowroute.
We have some salespeople with specific DIDs on their extensions and that works fine.
We have an answering service to forward to and the intention is to take an incoming call and send it back out to the calling service with the CID of the line that answered the call or even some other CID in our system reserved for this.
I have the call answers on an AA (mainly to filter out robocalls) then forwarded to a system extension that is set with a schedule to always forward to the caller service (currently set to my cell number for testing) but the originating CID always comes through.
While searching I've seen a lot of old posts of the opposite problem, people wanting the CID to flow through, but I'm actually wanting the opposite without impacting the way our CID works overall.
I'm hoping someone with more experience can explain the best practice for something like this. We're on hosted 3CX if that matters at all.
Thanks,
Phil
