Have a customer running 18.0 (Build 31), Pro, 4 Sim calls.

They have requested that they would like a ring group setup, with 5 extensions added. If the ring group is called and there is no answer they would like the call to forward to each of the ring group extensions' mobile numbers simultaneously with the first one to answer taking the call.

Would like advice on what's possible/advisable etc..

They swear they had this working previously with only two extensions. I can't confirm or deny this currently, so have advised I will research what the best solution is.

My current understanding (in all 3CX versions) is that this is not possible as a ring group ignores the extension status' forwarding config.

Also, if it were possible it would soon swallow/exceed the PBX's simultaneous call limits.

Thanks,

Nell

You could create a new group with dummy extensions set to ring mobile simultaneously. It would use 2SC as it called both.

Interesting, must be how they configured it previously. So regarding simultaneous calls, does each member of the ring group count as a simultaneous call if they were available? For example if there were 5 x extensions in the ring group and an incoming call was configured to route to this ring group. All 5 extension are available and no options checked to "ring mobile simultaneously". Would this count as 5 x simultaneous calls?

Thanks.

Yes, it would count as 5-SC

You could send the call to a queue with a polling strategy of round-robin to avoid the simultaneous call problem. But with a 4-SC license, you are severely limited because the inbound call will count as one SC and the outbound call to the agent is another simultaneous call. I think you are going to need to upgrade to at least an 8 SC license.

"Also ring my mobile" is available in a Ring Group or Queue for the agents in the Available status.
