Route incoming calls based on the caller id of the caller

Hi,

I would like to ask if is possible to create rules for routing inbound calls based on the caller id on specific group and how do i implement this.

Hi, you can create some dummy extension. Then in inbound rule choose your did number and routed to your dummy extension. After that go to your dummy extension and in forwarding rules tab, there is tab named "exceptions", you add new rule. Put there caller id and than were to forward your incoming call, you can also put "*" which will ignore evertything befor or after... e.g. 00* whil match everything whic start with 00xxxxxxxx , 3cx will not looking the xxxxxxxx ...... Your dummy extesnion doesnt need to be registered.

I just tested and works...

What is meant by callerid on specific group? How do your calls come into the system...PSTN, sip, etc?

You can usually set the system to look for a callerid mask and then direct however you want. The system detects the callerid and avoids the IVR if you should have it set. You can then direct to an extension, ring group, etc.

You cannot route incoming calls based on caller ID informaton only by DID's dialed can you route a call.

I think mixigs theory will work as I use the exception list on my personal extension so certain calls always goto my mobile.
Not the prettiest solution but a solution non the less.

You cannot route incoming calls based on caller ID informaton only by DID's dialed can you route a call.

Incorrect
You CAN route incoming calls basing on Caller ID, but it is not available in free edition.

Been doing this very thing for some time. I have some who want to bypass the IVR or receptionist and have their family reach an extension directly. Works great.

Sy, I inquried on this exact option months ago and was told it wasn't possible nor have i ever found any documentation pointing to that feature. Thanks!!!!!!
