Routing outgoing calls from one PBX thru 3CX PBX

I have a customer with an old NS300 PBX with lots of analogue phones. They have purchased 3CX and now want to route calls from the NS300 to the SIP trunks connected to the 3CX
to external numbers.

Is there an easy way to do this?

Or do I need to write call flow app?

They want to route from analog to 3CX via external number? Or something else?

If so, that's super easy. Just forward the calls to a DID and let 3CX handle the rest.

Make a call to say 012 345 567, which is a cellphone number, from the NS300. The routing table on the NS300 would then send the call to the 3CX server which would then route the call out of it's SIP connection

Why not bypass the NS300 completely? That setup is complex.

You would need to go from that PBX to the 3CX (if it's analog, not that hard. If it's SIP or IP, good luck configuring a trunk or bridge trunk that will work).

They have a significant number of phones attached to the NS300 and don't want to replace them. I've got the 2 PBX's talking together over SIP so they can call extensions on the other PBX. The NS allow 3CX extensions to directly dial an NS extension but for the NS to dial a 3CX extension they need to call to the DR and then enter the extension. A call flow app would solve this issue.

The problem is how to route the external calls.

Try using a master bridge trunk and register to it from the NS. The bridge will allow direct extension dialing. Just don't set any tunnel settings since the other side is not a 3CX.

By the way, depending on the phones they are using, you could be able to have them work with 3CX, if they're SIP. Otherwise, a FXS gateway might help.

Honestly, if they are to switch to 3CX, I'd invest in phones or just sell them basic USB headset and have them use the Webclient? That's what I would do.

I was a big fan of deskphones until 3CX released the browser extension. Since then, I've used my deskphones (well, DECT phones) only when not at my desk nor on my laptop. Most of the time, I use the Chrome extension. No need to buy phones.

If you choose to go the Bridge trunk route, (which would be the best way to have calls tandem through 3CX), this would require that the NS300 can register to a VoIP provider. In this case, that would be 3CX. In some cases people have had issues with Bridge trunks from "other" PBXs.

This archived article will give you some basics (but deals with an Asterisk as the other PBX), you'll just have to figure out the settings for the NS300 PBX.

I've configured it using a bridge,was using a gateway before, Master at 3CX end and now I can route calls through the 3CX. Thanks.

I did the testing using Issabel as I don't have a NS300 on hand
