Hi,

Just wondering if a Yealink phone (T53W) is set up as an SBC as well as a phone, is the phone also registered with RPS or is there a way to find out?

Thanks, Rob

This is also clarified in the guideline here:

Thanks Theodoros.

I am actually taking over a client's system and they are still on V18! The previous provider did nothing with regards to the set up nor any updates on the system.

The only thing is that the phones (i.e. one phone per location) are also set up as SBC / router phones.

So the phones are already provisioned as router phones in V18?

This is the phone screen from the system.

Yes this show that there is a router phone and will continue to work after the upgrade to V20.
The RPS is not an issue here. Note that the RPS will remain active for 14 days waiting for the phone to get the request and provision.

Thanks. Is there any way of finding out if they are registered in RPS?

In version 18 the phone would remain in the RPS for a period of 2 weeks. So if the extension hasent been edited for a period of 2 weeks, it should not be there.

In version 20, it remains in the RPS for a period of 2 weeks, or until the phone provisions. So a provisioned phone would not be in the RPS.

What we use the RPS for is to just tell the phone where to find its provisioning server.

We do not use the RPS for the management of the phone. Thats all done through the PBX, for updates and so on, if that is your concern.
