RTP Stream - Remote 3CX Server

If you have SIP trunks setup with your 3CX server, once the call path is built, is the RTP stream direct to the SIP provider over the internet connection where the 3CX user is at or does the RTP stream come from to the 3CX user from the 3CX server/site?

The RTP stream is directed from the 3CX User to 3CX PBX and then is directed at the SIP Provider.
