Hi,
I'm planning a migration from an asterix system to 3cx and I would like to replicate the receptionist behaviour that's in use with asterisk.
We have 3 receptionists (A B and C) that dynamically join the external/internal call queues, but we would like that all of them will appear calling as "Reception" with the same CID on internal calls in order to avoid people calling specifically one or another.

As a plus it would be great to be able to have a single digit queue (let's say 9) to call the reception and as CID for them calling the users.

Is there a way to have this in 3CX?

Regards
Giuseppe

As far as I'm aware, you cannot modify the caller ID (number), for an extension, on internal calls.

As a plus it would be great to be able to have a single digit queue (let's say 9) to call the reception and as CID for them calling the users.
I'm not exactly sure of what you are asking for. You can assign a SIP ID of 9, to an extension, then forward that extension to a ring group, or queue, where the multiple receptionists reside, if that is what you want.

That's exactly what I would like to do, but I need the same sip id in more than one extension.
I cannot use the same extension for the operators because I need them to join dinamically the queues.

The SIP ID is used for a dialled call, to reach a single destination (an extension, that is then forwarded), not as a replacement for internal caller ID. Did you try forwarding an extension to a queue?

I don't understand why I suld forward an extension to a queue.
Context:
I have a queue (let's keep it simple and say 7999) that is used to call the reception, where receptionist A-B-C work and tey need to be able to join and leave the receptionists queue (and that easy to do and so everyone can call the reception).

Question:
I also want that when they make a call (for any reason!), they all have as internal caller id the generic queue number (7999) that's because I want that it doesn't happen that people start calling specific receptionists only because they are in the call history and also because it's useful knowing that reception is calling you and not some John Doe that you could not know anything about!

Thanks
Giuseppe

You stated...

As a plus it would be great to be able to have a single digit queue (let's say 9) to call the reception

which I took to mean, you wanted reception to be reachable, by dialling a single digit (9).

Any internal calls will show the originators number.

I'm sorry that was the bonus feature, thanks!
I'm still missing the one base feature that I need.

Regards
Giuseppe
