Solved Samsung IP Phones

Hello,

We have a number of customers that currently use the Samsung PBX. Would it be possible to use the SIP firmware that Samsung provide in order to add the samsung officeserv smt-i5210 handset to a 3CX system. If so how would I go about doing this?

I think this is not possible and has no sense as firmware is done for use on phone and with Samsung PBX not 3CX.
Idea seems clear and easy but reality is other

Does the Samsung SCMC not use a SIP firmware for the phones, I thought they did.

I have put a SIP firmware on one of the handsets now

We have not tested these phones before so we cannot guarantee that they will work. If they are running a SIP firmware however you could try and manually setting one up and testing it.
Officially these are not supported so i would recommend having a look at our supported phones list.

They are now running a SIP Firmware, I am guessing I will need a custom template?

For manual provisioning you need no template at all. Just log into the phone UI and configure all necessary SIP settings like: registrar, proxy, auth ID, auth password, codecs, etc...
FYI, the Auth ID and Auth Password can be found in the 3CX Management Console when you edit an extension, in the "General" tab.

The Samsung phones dont have a web page to configure the settings so unfortunatly it has to be done on the phone itself...

I'm just guessing, but assuming Local LAN setup I'd try:

• Domain: 3CX Server LAN IP
• Address: 3CX Server LAN IP
• Protocol: UDP
• Port: 5060 (or whatever SIP port you have setup 3CX to use)
• Data: No idea.....
• Line Number: Extension Number
• Line Name: First/Last Name as found in 3CX Extension Settings, divided by space
• Auth ID: Auth ID
• Auth Pass: Auth Pass

Could I put the SBC IP address as the Domain and the Address?

With SBC, the Domain would for sure have to be the 3CX Public FQDN, but the address/proxy be the Local IP of the SBC.

Again, no guarantees, going on a "best guess" effort here...

Nope, you need to do nothing in the "Phone Provisioning" tab, the only things you need are in the "General" tab.
You are attempting a completely manual configuration of the IP Phone, that's why.

For the domain: It would be https://xxxxxxx.3cx.xxx.xxx:5001 or https://xxxxxxx.3cx.xxx.xxx:5001/provisioning/
