SBC on Raspberry Pi

I need to put an SBC in a location to run one extension - a Fax ATA

A Pi4 is the obvious solution but there are no 4Gb or 8Gb models currently available.

I have a couple of new unused 2Gb models.

Given I only need it to run one extension will a 2Gb suffice?

The 4 or 8 is rated up to 50 devices. 2GB will be perfectly fine for a single device. I still have Pi 2's out there with 15-20 devices.

If it counts, we have one at our HQ running over an SBC, it's one of the single-port supported ones:

From experience though I can tell you that receiving Faxes more depends on how "sensitive" your SIP Trunk provider is than the FXS being behind an SBC. Obviously there needs to be a decent connection from the SBC to the 3CX Server, and I highly recommend looking for a SIP Trunk provider that supports faxing over T.38.

Thanks. Yes I have implemented a test extension on our own PBX with SBC and the intended ATA.It does work.
The customer I need this for needs a physical fax connection to send payment instructions to their Bank. Can they use Internet Banking which they also have? No. The payment instructions in question - a couple per month - exceed the Internet Banking limit FFS and the bank won't accept any other way than a faxed copy of a signed payment instruction.Crazy.
I have a fallback scenario involving RJ45 to RJ11 cables and an existing FTTC circuit that still has a phone socket.
Alternatively they could use a third party email to fax service at a cost but that is messy as it would require scanning the document to email (easy enough as they have the MFP that is programmed to do this) but then detaching the attachement and resending over the email to fax service using the nominated account. The user who does this is not at all tech savvy.
Receiving is not an issue at all. They don't ever receive these days.
