Hi Everyone!

I've been trying to install SBC for my laptop using linux for better resource consumption and haven't been able to make it work with Debian Buster. The GUI just won't start.

I know Bullseye isn't yet supported but I've also read that 3CX PBX can be installed on a VM. Is there a way to, for example, have ubuntu on the laptop but the SBC on the virtual machine with debian 10, and make the phone work like that?

installing sbc on a laptop is not a ideal solution - as the machine needs to be on all the time to accept calls

not knowing ubuntu, you need a hyper visor application for this operating system - probably a question better asked on Ubuntu forums

if you find one, use the 3cx iso image https://www.3cx.com/docs/3cx-tunnel-session-border-controller/

I would recommend always using the 3CX ISO to install the SBC or PBX on any machine. Installing a GUI is not supported and might cause issues like the ones you are describing.

If you can run a supported hypervisor on the machine there should be no issues running the SBC on a VM.

Yes, SBC is a requirement from my employer to work from home and the phone is only on while on business hours so the Debian iso should work perfectly as that way no GUI is needed. I'll follow the steps to install it the way you suggested. It's good to find out it can work. Thank you
