We have an interesting “issue”…new deployment, 3CX hosted, running the latest version (18.0 Update 6 (Build 908) about 35 Fanvil X5U-v2’s running in router mode. We physically installed and registered everything yesterday. Came in this morning to do training and almost all but 1 or 2 phones showed SIP registration failed. We rebooted a few phones and they came up no problem. This is our first deployment using the phones in “router mode”. There is nothing “non-standard” …Enterprise licensing. It can’t really be a network or firewall “issue”…as we have a router phone on a separate public network (not behind the company firewall(s) or switches) and showed the same thing. Anyone run into this with the newer routes mode? We may need to switch it over to a local session boarder controller, assuming there is something happening with the phones in router mode?

Hi,

There is a known issue where if the phones cannot reach the PBX for about 5 mins, they give up trying to reconnect until you reboot them.

There is a planned fix in the next firmware release by Fanvil which addresses this specific issue.

Thank you...we were assuming/hoping it was something along those lines. We are going to switch them to the local SBC we have onsite (we needed one for the ATA device). Once we know the issue has been corrected, we can go back and convert them to router mode again. Thank you.

Hi, I have the same problem with a V62 router phone

If you want, After the firmware correction, you can set the ata on the router phone instead using a standard sbc. I have the same configuration: 1 ata and 1 phone (router...sigh)

Hi

any news for new firmware for issue correction?

this is a very big problem. I cant use router phones... it's necessary an external standard SBC... the router phone function is not operative for sell at this time

thanks

Hi Luca,

There is a planned firmware released when V18 Update 8 comes out.

This has been a problem for us as well, we have been deploying local SBC on mini-PC's onsite until the issue gets corrected.

Hi,

Any update on this? This is a big problem that is causing customer service issues.

Thanks

Our assumption is that an update is still planned for V18 Update 8 which is currently in BETA...but yes, we have still been unwilling to use it, due the issues. (Current version is 3CX Version 18, Update 8 BETA, Build 18.0.8.887 July 2023)

Thanks sneffets!

We are just discovering this issue and a few installs with new clients, which is not going good.

@3CX any word on this issue?
Hi Luca,

There is a planned firmware released when V18 Update 8 comes out.
Hello...any word on this? V18 Update 8 is out and I don't see in the notes where this firmware fix has been included, and I don't see any of the V2 phones showing that updates are pending? Thank you!

news? I have 100km to go to the customer and would like to avoid an empty journey

however, I consider excessive all these months by Fanvil to solve a serious bug not present on other brands

Hi Luca,

The V18 Update 8 Final build has been published today, and the latest firmware is scheduled to be published there tomorrow.

This version of the firmware will only be available in update 8, so the specific customer's PBX will have to be updated before it can see the firmware available for download.

The firmware will also be available for direct download from here of course:
