Hello!

We are using a 3cx phone system and we've been told to upgrade to V9 to stop brute force attacks. We are using 8.0.10900, and our licence has expired.

We've got these ports forwarded to our VOIP server:

Port 9000-9080

5060-5060
5080-5080
5090-5090

Is there anyway we can stop getting hacked with out upgrading to V9?

If you look at it from a business aspect you need to consider the cost of the upgrade versus the cost of the hackers damage. Other considerations are the time and effort currently allocated to securing the current V8 system.

That being said the smart money is on upgrading to V9 SP4 and having the peace of mind that your system is secure.

Thanks

Hi,

If you are experiencing brute force attacks then there are two ways you can go.. either secure your router to only allow specific ips coming in on that range, if you do not have a router like that, they are costly and an upgrade would definately be the best way to go. Once you do purchase an upgrade you should ensure you have upgrade insurance and remain paying it so that you are always up to date!
