Separate BLF config for each device on an extension

Hi All,

Any thoughts on separate BLF configs for each device on an extension?

I have been asked this a number of times by customers who are running different handsets at home and in the office (but connected to same extension).

Currently the BLF config is per extension and if different models of handset is assigned to same extension it doesn't always sit/display nicely on the handsets.

Firstly I guess any useable workarounds anybody know of? and secondly for those with privileges, prehaps put this forward and an 'idea' for me?

Currently the only way to do this would be to actually use multiple extensions, one per device, since as you correctly said, BLF configuration is done on the extension level. You could then have all extensions belonging to a specific user added to a Ring Group so other users can simply call that Ring Group when they want to reach him.

Yes that's what I have done in the past, just not the perfect solution as that 'extensions' (actually a ring group) BLF doesn't then reflect if that user is busy etc.

Like I say, prehaps worth putting on the list of possible new features at some point if other users would find this useful?

Well you could check whether somebody posted anything similar already in the ideas section, if not, maybe someone with sufficient privileges could post it on your behalf.
