Server Error logging in for AWS hosted 3cx. "protocol" error in logs

my system stopped working on Friday and I've been unable to figure out exactly why. It is hosted on AWS (Debian) and I can access the instance via SSH...have tried stopping/starting with a failure always pointing at :

3CXCfgServ01.service: Failed with result 'protocol'.

I have applied all available updates via apt-get with no changes. I've tried shutting it down and waiting and restarting with the same errors. It isn't out of space. I tried to manually do a backup and that failed with:
ConfigServer is not connected

Tried to do a restore of an old backup with failure too

I am unsure what else to try or do.

- What version of 3CX was this running?
- What OS version was it running on?

If you have a backup it would be best to redeploy the machine - that's your best bet to get a healthy machine and resume working immediately.
