Shortcut BLF possible?

I am replacing 10 analog phones and currently they press the BLF button for an extension and it does intercom to that phone similar to *11 on 3CX. However, it also shows their status(on call or off). I know I can set 3CX to do *11(extension) to do intercom by the press of a BLF but then it loses the status LED and if I set up as an extension then I have to have everyone memorize *11 then press the button.

Is there a way to do *11 then the extension and keep the status lamp, or can I somehow set a different BLF key to do *11, and then they press the extension button?

If I understand, you're asking for a BLF button configured as "BLF" but you also want it to intercom instead of dial? I don't think that's possible, but you can create a second BLF button for the intercom, using "Custom Speed Dial."

Correct. Their old phones showed the status through the LED but allowed intercom so they are a little sad they can't still do it the same way. They'll just have to memorize *11 I guess.

I tried that before posting and unfortunately, it immediately attempts a call which *11 doesn't do anything by itself. I wonder if there is a way to signify to wait for more input...

- if course - phone manufacturers need to support.
