Showing Phone Number Calling from

Hi All, my company had 5 different toll free numbers, is there any way on 3CX Assistant or other method can display the number which number is customer calling from? Because our customer service always need to ask the customer which number you are calling from? It is really unprofessional question. Hope someone can help. thanks.

Are you saying that you don't get Caller ID, or, you want the toll free number that the person has dialled?

Caller ID will depend on what sort of trunks you are using, your provider, and your gateway (if used).

ok, we had 5 different company and 5 different toll free numbers. BUT we only had 1 customer service group (4 person) therefore, they are having call coming in but don't know the customer which toll free number dialed. please suggest. thanks.

But how do the call physically get into 3CX? VoIP provider (that also offers the toll free numbers), a PSTN or ISDN gateway? Do you have a contract with a provider to forward the toll free numbers to existing (local) numbers?

You have not provided any useful information, other than the fact that you have 5 toll free numbers.

we are with cbeyond as a phone provide. the toll free number is we assigned them to ring to the fix local number. therefore we just configuration the local number belongs to which ring group. and our customer ring group handle those 5 toll free numbers. so we don't know which toll free number the customer dial. either the 3cx assistance can show the local number or the toll free number will work.

Unless the calls are coming in via VoIP trunks, and the originating toll free numbers is being passed to you in the SIP message, or each toll free number is forwarded, on a one to one basis to a "real" local number, then I don't see a way of determining which number the caller has dialled.

If this is an important feature, you may need to work with your toll free provider about how they see this information being passed on to you, they must have dealt with this question before, with other customers.

This might involve a change of trunk provider, rather than just a simple option change. If it is something that is important enough, you will have to weight the costs involved.
