Siedle DCA 650-02 doorbell with HT-802

Dear all,

I replaced a very old analog PBX (Proximus forum 16) with a 3cx Pro; no special issues. The customer also has a Siedle DCA 650-02 door intercom thas he wants to reuse; does anyone have any experience with this type of device? When connecting it to the HT-802 (configured as per instructions fro3 3cx, tested with analog phone, works just fine), it rings, but when you pick up, you get a a series of 3 ascending beeps, no voice. Any pointers would be very welcome...

It sounds like it is the
Negative acknowledgement tone
(Sounds on incorrect input of functions (no status queries or switching
functions) or on timeout.)

So, to be clear, the unit is ringing an extension, but when the extension answers, the person answering hears the 3 beeps.

You might want to go over all of the options again.

Thanks, Leejor, I'll play around with the settings on the siedle. Will post what did the trick, good for other people with the same issue.

... As promised, the working config. It's ridiculously easy; I was thrown of by the series of three ascending beeps when picking up the call from the intercom. Apparently, this is by design and perfectly normal; all one has to do is press any numerical key on the answering sip-phone, and you have two way communication.

So, basically: configure HT801-802 as described in the 3cx documentation; (optionally) configure the extension you want to ring out from the intercom in the web interface of the grandstream under FXS 1 (or 2, depending where you plugged it in) in "offhook autodial" (in my case a call queue), and you're in business.
