simple security improvement - change SIP port

maybe i am missing it, is there a simple way to change SIP of a current installation.

Apparently you have to do a backup and restore, then reconfig all endpoints, etc.

changing the sip port would minimize the chances of automated script attacks

brtw: why not make the default anything but 5060

Changing the SIP port, has been attempted, in the past, to try to stop, or, at least, slow down hackers. Unfortunately, many seem to be scanning more than just that one port.

If a solution were that simple, I'm sure It would have been implemented by now.

A reinstall of the system is required for changing the SIP port.
The simple reason why the default SIP port is 5060 is because some SIP services require the SIP port of the PBX to be 5060. A few SIP trunk providers come in mind.
Also you can choose your SIP port during the installation if you are self hosting. so nothing is preventing you from changing it.
