I am hoping it is just something I set up wrong but I have a single trunk (SIPTRUNK.COM) with 2 DID's. I have seperate inbound rules for each DID but both route to same extension. What am i doing wrong?

Look at the activity log, and you will see what number is being presented to 3CX system - from here you can change your DDI routing.

You may have to use *123456 as your DDI numbers

Hello @Randall Caudill

You probably have a source identification issue where the format of the number sent by the provider does not match the format you used to add your DIDs. So inbound rules do not match and inbound calls are routed to the main trunk number destination.
Check your Activity log and look for the format the provider is using to send the number. Then adjust your DIDs to match that format.
From what i can remember SIPTRUNK.COM uses full E164 format. For example +10123456789

okay makes sense... i did update the inbound rules to reflect *xxxxxxx i also removed the inbound rule that was using the trunk account number as well... all is working now! Thanks so much!

Glad to see the issue has been resolved,

In my experience, this usually means the number your carrier is presenting to 3CX does not match the number you have specified in your inbound rule. For example, if you were to enter your DID as 123456789 and your carrier is presenting to 3CX +1123456789, the numbers do not match. They same obviously is true the other way around. For example, many PRI providers only present the last 4 digits. The solution is to enter your DID as *3456789. The wildcard "*" means ignore the proceeding digits.

You only need to evaluate the number of digits necessary to make the DID unique. For example, if you have two DIDs 123456789 and 123456788 technically you could enter one DID as *8 and the other as *9 and that would work fine. However, I generally use at least 7 digits just to make the DID easily recognizable (unless your carrier is only presenting 4 digits :) ).
