Hi everyone,
One of my clients currently uses a softphone, Zoiper, with a sip account from a provider: Kavkom
He wants to use this account threw 3cx phone system for many (good) reasons.
Is there a possibility to set up this account on 3CX server? I tried to create a "Generic SIP account" with the registrar, ID and password of the account, but registering fails.
Thanks a lot !

Hi @Nexacom

Technically if its a SIP compatible provider you should be able to register a SIP trunk to it. What error are you getting when trying to register?

Doing a little "Google research", it seems that the Kavkom offers a similar service to 3CX. So...I'm assuming that you are attempting to register a 3CX trunk to a Kavkom extension. In this case the Generic option will usually work. However, they may not like something, such as the User Agent, identifying the registration as coming from 3CX, given they are the competition.( some providers have been know to block things like that)

Have you checked the 3CX Activity Log to see if there is any indication of what may be incorrect?

If it is the User Agent, you should be able to change that in the trunk parameters

@leejor thanks for your answer. Yes, it's what I'm trying to do!
I have a 403 forbidden then 401 unauthorized

First you need to figure out who is meant to be the server and who is meant to be the client in this transaction. The client is the one who will initiate the registration request and the server will be the one who receives the request. If the providers side is acting as an extension perhaps they do not accept registrations?
