Dear 3CX community

I just recently moved and upgraded my FIOS package to the new FIOS system. In my old house the router worked JUST FINE with 3CX and played nicely with the firewall system. I have ports forwarded and all that jazz with the new router but SIP ALG is totally blocking all 3cx functions

The router in question is Fios-G1100

Does anybody have any way to get around their SIP ALG issues? I really wanna get my home office and 3CX PBX online

Best,
Jordan

Basically have a couple options:
  • Call Verizon support to see if they can turn off SIP ALG (Have to do this with Comcast)
  • Bridge/Pass-thru to your own router
  • Move the PBX to the cloud and use a SBC
No Verizon on this coast so no firsthand experience with that device.

I had the same sort of issue with Sky at my home office here in the UK. I just called them up and asked them to disable it.

Moved over to GAMMA now with the "bring your own router" option and I am much happier!

We have a Verizon FIOS site over in california, and were able to just eliminate their router completely, no need for bridge mode since they drop ethernet to it, you just need to setup pppoe on the new router and set the MTU to 1492. Wish they didnt run PPPOE on their fiber network but its Verizon so they are not known for policy intelligence.
