I have an issue that I can't find a solution for.

I moved my office which resulted in me obtaining a new external ip address. I updated the address in the 3CX console but my SIP trunk refuses to register. The SIP folks tell me that they haven't seen a SIP trunk registration request from my system since April 24th. As a test, I downloaded a copy of Zoiper, connected to my SIP provider and called my cell phone. That worked. So, what is the difference between a Zoiper client connecting to my SIP provider and my 3CX box connecting to the same provider? I'm dead in the water and have been for a week now. :-(

Sounds like a firewall issue perhaps? The IP address in 3CX has nothing to do with registration attempts per se. Even with the wrong IP address in the console 3CX should still try to register if traffic can flow out from the box. It might use the wrong IP info in the headers but the attempts should still reach your provider. I'd double check your networking configuration.

It sure looks like that but everything worked fine before the move. Since I moved, I had to go in to the firewall and change every VOIP related rule to have the new ip address but changed nothing else.

However, since my initial post, I installed Voiper on the 3CX box (my test was from my workstation) and it fails to connect to the SIP provider. On my workstation, it reported that SIP TCP was not found, SIP UDP was found and IAX UDP was not found and it worked. In the 3CX box, it reports that none of the three are found and, therefore, fails.

Reboot the router, if not already done

Fixed. I fat fingered the ip address when I was updating the firewall. The data was going out but nothing was coming back :-o

Thanks for the pointers.
