Before I go 3rd party I want to verify there is NOTHING else I can check for why I have one FANVIL 3G phone that is connected, you can call, it can call out but you get NOTHING once answered. It is like if I call from outside my house (like from work) it rings... my wife answers but there is no sound on either end. If I call the extension from the phone to another internal extension I can hear the voices... But if I call from any number to it the extension in question it will ring but you cannot hear anyone talking. Am I losing my mind, is there something I am just missing since this used to work perfectly? I am just curious to see if there is anything I can do before reaching out to a 3rd party. Just frustrating. I think I am just overlooking something.

Where is the PBX hosted?

Does the firewall checker passes?

Have you tried using the mobile app or DesktopApp?

How is the phone provisioned? Local, SBC or STUN.

I will try to answer the best I can since I am not at the house to verify the settings:

Where is the PBX hosted? Local network at home on a Raspberry Pi 4

Does the firewall checker passes? Yes

Have you tried using the mobile app or DesktopApp? Yes. If I dial from the Mobile App to the full DID number it rings but no sounds; if I dial the extension it rings and there is sound.

How is the phone provisioned? Local, SBC or STUN. I will have to check but I believe it is STUN

Everything being on the same network, it probably isn't going to be a (voice) port issue. It may be a Codec problem. I would check the 3CX Activity log to see if there are any errors showing.

Do incoming calls work (Audio) to the Mobile, or Desktop App?

Was the phone manually provisioned?

Register a mobile app on the same extension as the Fanvil phone and try making calls from that. Do not call another extension of the system but try to call external numbers and see if that works. If it does then you probably have configured the phone slightly wrong.

Is the phone in the same network as the PBX? If so then you need to configure the phone as a local device, not STUN.

When I call jus the extension to the phone from the 3CX app it does work.. I get the sound and can talk back and forth. When I call from an external phone or just my cell it rings but you cannot hear anyone talking.

Yes they are the same network. I will try the registered App test when I get home.. thanks!
it was manually provisioned.

I got home and now the phone states SIP register failed. I swear I cannot win. When I first setup all this everything worked. Now I have one phone that gets an IP one that won't neither work anymore.

What type of trunk are you using?

Just so I'm clear...is it only the Fanvil that is having issues? You only have one of those?

Factory reset the phone and provision it using the recommended method. Make sure you are on the supported firmware and you are not using any custom templates. Then try again and let us know of the results.

Yes. I have two FANVIL 3G phones but the 3S firmware is the only firmware that works for them

The X3G phones are very old so we do not have the firmware for those. You will need to ask Fanvil for the latest firmware for that phone. I would not attempt to update the phone using the X3S firmware as these are different devices and you may run into issues.
