Hi,
The 3CX system I'm running is version 16.0.671 on a Professional Annual license.

I'm relatively new to 3CX PBX. I have a fully functional system with trunks to different providers, extensions and all the afferent routes configured and working.
My question is with regards to the interface.

I'm looking at the SIP trunks screen and I read as much as I can about the topic:12402

From an interface consistency perspective I'm trying to understand why the difference between Edit, Delete, Refresh Registration which can be applied to one or multiple trunks by clicking the check-box to the left of the respective trunk(s,) and Enable All / Disable All which are global settings.

The first question is why the mix of individual and global settings for the trunks at the same level of the interface (other than making it simple at the expense of following a common approach.) The next question is how to enable / disable individual trunks. - That's all part of the learning experience, thank you.

you select the trunk line you want to disable by ticking left box, then click disable all, refresh page your trunk turn from green to red, so it is now disabled.
To enable tick left box , click enable all, refresh, trunk is connected green

Thank you for the prompt reply.
I have a mix of trunks - some registered (as in require authentication) some IP based (do not require authentication.) All 3CX supported providers (the likes of Telnyx, VoIP.ms etc.)
The reason I asked this question has at least two aspects to it:
  • if it would work the way you suggest it is, the Disable All / Enable All would be misleading because we're talking about the selected trunk only, not all defined trunks - it doesn't work that way in my case, by the way
  • trunks that are IP based show the green dot regardless of the Disable All /Enable All button press

The way it works for me is that by pressing Disable All, disables all the registered trunks (red dot). The IP based stay green. The event log correctly shows the status of all registered trunks (enabled / disabled) at a global level.

Yes Gabx, IP based trunks are not affected by Disable All /Enable All button press .

Yes, if no selection is done in trunk page, all registred based trunks only are affected by Disable All /Enable All button press. WebMeeting bridge and SBC aren't

In all honesty, I expected some moderator or 3CX person would try and explain this.

@aws2p, you see that's exactly what I'm asking - "IP based trunks are not affected by Disable All / Enable All button press " - that's the way it works, but then the button label Disable All / Enable All is misleading. 'All' means all to me, not all but IP based trunks.

On the other hand, I click the checkbox to the left of my voip.ms trunk and then click Disable All. What happens is that not only voip.ms gets disabled, but so does Telnyx and Callcentric etc. All registered trunks.
The button does what the label on it states - Disable All - no matter what you select - except for IP based trunks.

Give it a try - that's one of the reasons I started this thread with a clear definition of the software level I'm running. Thanks

May I kindly ask the moderator of this site to close the thread?

I now understand that it doesn't do any good to anyone to keep this one active.
