Skype as softphone for 3CX

Good Day!
Anyone here know's about how to make Skype as a "softphone" for 3CX- if it's even possible? If it is can you help me on some few things like :
-How to set it up
-what needs to run on the servers

It does says in 3CX system that call can be handled to Skype, we actually tried it and it didn't work.
We would like to use Skype as a softphone but of course with fair clarity.

Skype can be brought into the 3CX PBX as a trunks using the Skype Gateway (no longer supported but will still work using older versions of Skype). From there you can use the 3CX softphone as a 3CX extension with access to the Skype trunk. Many devices (PC's, smart phones) have their own Skype phone that can be downloaded and installed, and, if you only wish to use Skype (on its own), it is probably best to use a current version made specificity for your device
