Hi again,
I've followed the instructions for getting my Skype Connect VoIP trunk set-up in 3cx phone system. The extension seems properly registered (green light), but when I attempt to make a call that would use the trunk, the calls fail (from a SIP phone as well as from 3cx phone for windows). A look at the server log reveals error 403: forbidden on the invite from the sip.Skype.com IP address. I've made doubly sure that my credentials are correct, even having my Skype connect SIP profile password reset several times.

Any clues as to what might be amiss? The instructions are so straightforward...

3cx phone system 12.

Thanks for the help.

Are you sure that you are sending the correct digits out on the trunk? Was this working previously, or have you used the service with another device/PBX?

Did you mean that the trunk (not extension) is registered?

Thanks for weighing-in leejor.

This is a fresh install of v12 SP3. Never had any other VoIP trunks setup on it previously.

Yes, you are correct, I meant that the TRUNK is properly registered or at least appears to be) with a green light and the status text "Registered (idle)" associated with it.

The digits being sent, according to the Server Activity Log are the exact ones I am typing into the phone/3cx phone in windows. I also tried pre-pending either a "+" or a "00" since the calls I am attempting to make are destined for Canada, but I see the same error.

Here is the logging of an attempt from extension 803 (I replaced my Skype ID with "xxx"):

It might be one of a couple of things...
Have you confirmed that the access digits "00" then country code "1" is the format that Skype is actually looking for?

The other thing...have you tried placing calls to any other numbers? I recently discovered that the 867 areacode is not included in some companies "unlimited" VoIP calling plans, as it is to a sparsely populated area and can command a premium price.
See...http://www.yukon-news.com/letters-opinions/its-time-to-ditch-867
So it may be that Skype charges a much higher rate (or just blocked it) and that you have to "allow" calls to that particular code. There is an "areacode" in the Caribbean that works in the same manner.

Thanks again leejor.

Calls to other numbers also fail, including those in other Canadian or American area codes. In testing this theory out, however, I called a 1-888 number (toll free) and it worked!

So, clearly the issue is with my Skype account not allowing me to call numbers which incur charges, despite my ample credit.

This help document suggests that my Skype login information is not correct:
https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA10551/skype-connect-error-code-403

I will bark up that tree for a bit and see where that gets me.

Thanks.

Login information was correct. Error was as a result of insufficient credit. Gah! Despite having lots of credit associated with the SIP Profile (in Skype Connect Manager), I had failed to allocate any of that credit to the "outgoing calls" module.

My apologies for wasting time, and thank you for your help.
