Anyone know what old version of Skype still works with 3CX Skype Gateway.
Thanks.

Hi old-ocker,

This should give you some assistance:
https://www.3cx.com/voip-gateways/skype/

Judging by the page format it looks a little outdated but should provide you with enough to get you started I would of hoped.

Hi eddv.

I already had it working on an old version of Skype but version 7.16 and earlier are now barred from logging in by Microsoft. latest version of Skype does not work with Gateway so I am asking if anyone has it working with a version after 7.16.
Thanks

I had it working up until Skype changed everything again a while back (year or two ago). It was a big change, and I did try to get around it in the same way as the previous Skype re-vamp (replace a Skype file from an old version into the new install), but no-go. I gave up after spending a lot of time on it. Not to say it can't be done, so... good luck.

Skype Gateway is pretty much dead. You can achieve most of the same functionality by doing Skype Connect which is basically a Skype SIP trunk

Well...except, that's a subscription service, and if you just wanted to connect with "regular" Skype users, on using a phone, and vice-versa, the Skype gateway filled the bill.

Well aware of what you used to be able to do for free with Skype Gateway. And because it was free, it is no longer available. So if someone still wants to integrate Skype with 3CX, this is the proper method. You can't call folks using their Skype names because of the dialing rules (at least that used to be the case) but you can receive calls from Skype users which I believe is still free so the only cost would be the channel subscriptions at something like $6-7/month per concurrent call.

You used to be able to with the Skype Gateway if you created a "speed dial" entry in the outbound rules, then had the rules substitute the name for the number you dialled. Haven't tried the Skype commercial offering so I don't know if it will work in the same manner. I somehow doubt it, and seem to recall something about Skype Connect users NOT being able to call a Skype name.
